What Gear Do I Use?

Most of my equipment is over five years old now, but they are still very reliable!

The camera I use is the Canon EOS 1200D. It’s a super easy camera to use if you’re starting out, but it also has the capability for more advanced camera work with the settings it offers. Whether for photo or video, this camera has done its job for me over the years.

I currently have two lenses. They are both kit lenses, which are some of the simplest lenses you can get for your camera, but I’ve still been able to achieve some of my favorite shots with them! The first one is the Canon EFS 18-55mm Macro 0.25/0.8ft lens. This is the one that I use most for my landscapes, as well as most of my other photographic work. It has a great range for capturing anything from plants and bugs to large mountain ranges. The second lens I carry is the Canon Zoom Lens EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6. I love to use this lens whenever I am photographing wildlife as I am able to keep a good distance from the subject without sacrificing much of the quality of the photo itself.

Some of the other handy gear that I’ve gained over the years include my tripod, who has seen better days, and my corded remote. The tripod is your basic cheap one from Walmart, but it has proven to be pretty durable. Although it sometimes is annoying to have a corded remote, it has come in handy when I have longer exposures. I am able to set the shutter off without accidentally moving my camera as I press the button.

The hard drive I have is the Seagate 2TB drive. Having this much space comes in handy when I am working with larger files, such as my videos or TIFF files with serval layers attached to it. If you don’t have a hard drive, I would greatly suggest getting one! It frees up the space on your computer for the Adobe programs to run smoothly. Trust me. I’ve learned the hard way.

I also have several pieces of equipment that I use occasionally, such as filters, a wide-angle lens attachment, and macro lens attachments.
